Kennedy is an interdisciplinary designer interested in climate resiliency, education, maker-based processes, and public art. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Fiber Science and Apparel Design from Cornell University and a Master of Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon. While in graduate school, she worked with Landscape 4 Humanity to research and develop landscape-based systems for a local transitional housing community, and the Fuller Initiative for Productive Landscapes exploring Pacific Northwest forest culture and ecology through landscape-scale installations. She was named a 2022 Olmsted Scholar and received ASLA and Oregon ASLA awards for her collaborative work at the University of Oregon.
With a background in fashion and textile design, she has translated her passion for materials, iterative processes, and careful craft to landscapes. She constantly works with her hands - embroidering, quilting, naturally dyeing, woodworking, sketching - and enjoys exploring new and familiar places. She is focused on ecosystem and public well-being and is excited to co-create equitable, resilient, and exciting spaces for all.
